There are two reasons why I think so. First, the production of genetically modified foods can alleviate world hunger. These genetically modified foods are more resistant to disease, harmful insects, and harsh weather. They also have a longer shelf life than regular crops, providing a more stable food supply. Second, genetic engineering cures incurable and intractable diseases such as diabetes, cancer, Alzheimer's disease, and AIDS. While some point to the ethical issues of genetic engineering and the great health risks, such as causing allergies and leukemia, I believe that the advantages far outweigh the disadvantages.
