There are two reasons for this. First, religious and ethnic differences often lead to diplomatic setbacks that can escalate into military confrontations. History has proven examples of armed conflict, such as the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and the war between Muslims, Roman Catholics, and Serbian Orthodox Christians in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Second, the unbridled human desire to dominate others often leads to territorial expansionism and conflict. Violence and war are inseparable from human nature.
