Nowadays, more and more people are taking part in volunteer activities in Japan. Volunteers usually clean up parks, care for elderly people, and serve as a guide for tourists in the local community. Some people even go to other countries for volunteer activities. Although they may have trouble in foreign countries because of cultural differences, they can have good opportunities to learn about different values, and in the process, will come to appreciate their own culture.
